Ongoing Classes in Redding, CT
Those seeking to move with comfort and ease will welcome the FELDENKRAIS METHOD® (www.Feldenkrais.com). Classes consist of simple to complex, gentle movements. Students learn to rely on their skeletal structure for support, diminishing the need for muscular power.
These skeletal explorations evenly distribute muscle and joint stress, bringing suppleness to everyday activities and beyond. Moshe Feldenkrais, an internationally-known physicist and engineer, developed his innovative approach to movement re-education when he was incapacitated by a sport-related injury. Given little chance of ever walking without pain, he applied his mastery of martial arts with his scientific background to restore his own functioning and, later, the functioning of many others. The Feldenkrais approach has now attained world-wide recognition.
FELDENKRAIS for ADULT EDUCATION
Redding Senior Center sponsors classes which guide students to move as they were able in childhood. Open to anyone who wants to move in comfort.
FELDENKRAIS PUBLIC WORKSHOP
This workshop exposes students to Dr. Feldenkrais' novel approach: movement for those who can imagine. Students are invited to experience the FELDENKRAIS METHOD®, learn about the man, his method, and its benefits, what some have dubbed the "non-exercise exercise" or "brain exercise".
Wear loose comfortable clothing. Bring a mat large enough to provide cushioning: head to toe, arms outstretched; a folded bed-quilt over a yoga-sticky mat or moving mat works well. Taught by Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitionercm,
